Elizabeth Grant Skin Care and The Shopping Channel have just launched an incredible initiative- The Elizabeth Grant Ambassador Program in support of Women Moving Women.

Five women have been selected from across Canada to be ‘Elizabeth Grant Ambassadors’ and take part in this project that will help fund programmes for the Canadian’s Women Foundation. These wonderful women were all brought to Toronto in January to meet Elizabeth and find out what being an ‘Elizabeth Grant Ambassador’ really means.

The ladies were well taken care of during their visit with a five star lunch at Auberge du Pommier, a sightseeing trip around the city of Toronto, and they were treated to a private tour of The Shopping Channel. These Ambassadors had a first rate vacation, but the job that lies ahead is not just a simple walk in the park.

The true meaning of Ambassador role is to succeed in raising money for an important cause. After their Toronto visit, each one of these women returned to their homes across Canada to tackle their main duty and start fundraising. The Ambassadors are required to raise funds in their own communities over the next six months and report back to TSC and Elizabeth Grant as they go. They can be as creative as they want in their means of raising money- with most of the women focusing on home based events and silent auctions.

We salute these wonderful women as they embark on a journey that is so important to women across Canada. Did you know that 1 in 7 women in Canada lives in poverty? And when women live in poverty, so do their children: 1 million children in Canada live under the poverty line. The money raised through the Elizabeth Grant Ambassador Program will go towards helping empower Canadian women living in poverty, helping them get back on their feet, both financially and personally.

January is the annual Wear White 4 Windfall (WW4W) month and Elizabeth Grant Skin Care is once again supporting Windfall’s mission to eliminate poverty and its poverty awareness campaign. WW4W is an annual awareness campaign in support of Windfall Clothing Service, Canada’s only NEW clothing bank. Windfall collects new clothing and basic needs items and distributes them, free of charge, to Toronto’s neediest citizens through partnerships with 90 social service agencies. Throughout January, fundraising initiatives (events, sales, and celebrity endorsements) take place around the city to raise money in support of the WW4W campaign. On January 27th, the official WW4W day, Torontonians are encouraged to wear something white and donate $4 to support this important service.

Margot Grant, Elizabeth Grant Skin Care’s Beauty Director tells us, “We are proud to be taking part in WW4W’s annual campaign for the 4th year in a row now. Windfall provides vital services to our community- January is a bitterly cold month and unfortunately there is a growing problem of poverty in our city. Every bit of help counts when working towards getting people the basics they need to make it.”

With all the fun white-themed events throughout January (such as the exclusive Amber party, a private shopping night at H&M Bloor, and a celebrity bartending evening at Boehmer Restaurant), we bet you can think of a few party hoppers who might just be in need of The Socializer.
